Every year rolls around and every year my favourite trend hits every high street (and high end) store with a vengeance. It’s the trend that is never going to go out of style and can last you a life time. Of course I am talking about the trench coat. Whether it’s camel, black, cream or khaki. Trench coats are everywhere and probably my favourite style.
I have been a fan of a trench ever since I first walked into Selfridges and saw the gorgeous camel numbers lined up by the door. I don’t think I could ever tire from the trend and here’s why.
Dressing appropriately for the weather
Here in Britain, the weather is so temperamental that you don’t know what you’re getting day by day. So dressing for the weather can be tricky. I for one often regret my often choice when it suddenly pours down or I realise that my biker jacket just wont do at keeping me warm in -2 degree weather. But a trench lets you dress so appropriately for the weather WHILE STILL looking chic AF. Now that’s what I call adulting.
It goes with everything
I am still to find an outfit that does not go with a classic trench. Dressing up for the evening? Pair it with a trench. Business meeting? Of course a trench. Leggings and a hoodie? Throw on a trench, why not.
Cost per wear
I am always someone who thinks about cost per wear- whether thats a £9 pair of boots from Primark or a £1000 Burberry trench. I want to know that the cost per wear is worth it and I am getting my money’s worth in the long run. I cannot even count how many times I have worn my trench over the years and how many more times I will wear it in the years to come. 10 points to Gryffindor.
