Move over LBD, there’s a new sheriff in town.
The little black dress has been a staple in every girl’s wardrobe since the beginning of time. It’s been our friend, our confident and our saving grace. But there’s a new item in town that’s thrown the LBD off the shelf – and that’s the little WHITE dress.
Over recent years the LWD has been making more and more of a movement into our wardrobe, especially in summer. It’s a versatile, easy to style and effortlessly chic look that I am ALL FOR.
Here’s why I love the Little White Dress.
It’s Classic
White is such a classic colour and one that I have been reaching for more and more in my wardrobe. It’s light and airy but looks so effortless chic on. A little white dress is something that isn’t going to age, date or go out of trend anytime soon. It’s definitely an item that is worth investing in now, because I know it’s not going anywhere any time soon.
It Can Be Dressed Up Or Down
Just like the LBD, the LWD is a versatile wardrobe staple that can be dressed up or down. Throw some trainers on, add a cross body bag and throw your hair up and you’ve got a cool, laid back look. But add a pair of heeled sandals, a top handle bag and some jewellery and you’re ready for any event (but maybe not a wedding). It’s the kind of item that can be worn time and time again for so many different occasions. It’s the perfect ‘I don’t know what to wear’ item that can fit into any dress code.
There’s one out there for any budget
One of my favourite things about the popularity of the LWD is that stores are recognising our desire for them and stocking accordingly. Now you can find a gorgeous white dress for any budget – whether you’re looking for a high street bargain or to invest in something a little more indulgent.
