Dress Code? Oh I do miss those two words. Two words that I feel like we haven’t spoken in years and are probably the biggest asked question for any social event. I don’t know about you but I feel like since lockdown restrictions have been easing, dress codes have been thrown ever-so-slightly out of the window and no one knows what to wear anymore.

Oh I remember the days when I was sick of those words.
‘What are you wearing?’
‘Oh just jeans and a nice top.’
But nowadays I kill to hear someone tell me they’re wearing jeans and a nice top because it really is the elite of all the outfits. Smart but not too smart, casual but not too casual. There really is a reason why it’s our go to outfit of choice when we’re not too sure on the dress code.
When it comes to nice tops. you can’t go wrong with a sweetheart neckline. A trend that I have harped on about for months but I really have fallen in love with. They’re so flattering, so comfy and look amazing with anything. They can look super smart and dressy when you want them to be or can be styled down for something a bit more casual.
The jeans I’ve chosen are the perfect ‘could be smart, could be casual’ jeans. Black, so very appropriate for night time wearing but wide leg and ripped to bring a hint of informality. Styled with a pair of dad sandals looks trendy, cool and like you’ve just thrown the outfit together without much thought.
Finish off with a black bag of your choice to complete the look and again, create a ‘I could wear this anywhere’ aura about your look.
