If there’s one item that I think is crucial in a spring wardrobe, it’s a shirt. It’s probably one of the most classic pieces and one of those items you can bring out of your wardrobe year on year on year. Not only that but it’s a super versatile item that can be worn in so many different ways and style up for so many different occasions.
So in celebration of the classic shirt, I thought I would share some of my favourite ways to style it up for spring.
White shirt and blue jeans
One of the most underrated, classic outfits is a white shirt and a pair of blue jeans. Oh it just gives me the chills. So simple. So basic. But so gorgeous. If you want to look like you’ve got your bish together, but still super casual but still super stylish – a white shirt and blue jeans is perfect. To really incorporate that summer vibe, add slides and a basket bag. But there is such a huge range of shoes and accessories that you can style with this look for any occasion.
As an over shirt
I really love using a shirt as a layering piece in the spring. Here in the UK, the weather can be super unpredictable and you can be swapping out layers so quickly. So wearing a shirt over an outfit as that extra little piece of layering is such a great way to incorporate it into your outfit and still give you that practical extra piece of clothing.
Tied in a knot
You don’t have to just wear a shirt in a classic, buttoned up way – you can also get really experimental with the ways in which you wear a shirt. I personally love to knot it at the front and pair it with something high waisted. Weather thats trousers, leather shorts or high waisted jeans. I think it’s super simple but super cute.
