I always love doing deep dives into trends each year and really exploring what’s on the catwalks, on the highstreet and on our instagram feeds each season. I adore experimenting with fashion, seeing what works into my wardrobe and what sings to my soul.
I have a big philosophy when it comes to trends and that is to never follow them blindy. Trust me when I say that there are many (many) trends that would never be for me that I steer completely clear of. Speaking of, let me know if you’d like to see that in a blogpost!
But today’s topic is the trends I will be following and will be incorporating into my styling this year. All of these trends speak to my personal style and reflect my fashion sense and are styles I’m so excited to wear.
Cable knit trend
This has been a huge one this winter and one I intend to bring into the spring months as layering pieces. They’re classic, they’re timeless and they look so classy with any outfit. I absolutely adore.
Monochromatic trend
If you’ve followed me for while, you’ll know just how much of a fan I am of an all black look. But this year is about more than just all black. The monochromatic trend has taken my instagram by storm and has stolen my heart. From all white looks to all black to all neutral to all nude. I’m obsessed.
Preppy Y2K
The Y2K trend is one you just can’t ignore this year and has it’s ups and downs with sub-trends within it. But one of those sub trends that I do love is the preppy trend. I’m talking Blaire Waldorf style – skater skirts, shirts, tweeds, give me it all.
Tailoring
Especially in spring time, tailoring is just my favourite. I adore how pulled together it makes you look. So chic, so effortless and so easy to style.
