If there’s one material that I absolutely love for summer, it’s linen. Lightweight. Breathable. Clean. White. So many words to describe the fabric but another that I would use is difficult. My goodness linen can be a really difficult material to wear, style up and get right. And even so if you’re a petite girl like me. So I thought I would share my top tips for wearing linen when you’re a short girl – so whether you’re petite like me or even not, hopefully these tips will help you rock this fabric this summer.
Belts
Belts are your best friend when it comes to linen. I find that because the fabric is so lightweight, it doesn’t create a figure hugging silhouette by any means. It drapes off your body and although that can be super comfortable, it isn’t always flattering, especially as a shorter girl. So when it comes to linen dresses, shirts or even trousers, adding a belt is such a great way to show off that figure with a linen outfit.
Double Linen
Just like double denim, double linen is a huge trend this summer and a great way to add the material into your outfit in a very thought through, styled way. Linen shirts styled with linen trousers or shorts looks so pulled together and the monochromatic look can make you look so much taller by elongating your body and pulling your eye upwards.
Embrace the creases!
Linen is going to crease. It’s a fact. So the best thing to do is embrace that. Give your linen a steam the morning of and then just let it do it’s thing.
