A big change I’m making in 2021 is to look after my skin better. Whether that’s through looking at what’s in my diet, to ensuring I double cleanse every night to updating my skincare routine. 2021 is going to be the year of clear skin – I’m manifesting it into existence.
Here’s the skincare resolutions I am working towards and the products that I am going to be relying on
Diet
I know diet is one that we often don’t like to talk about and I sure as hell am not the poster girl for a balanced diet. But I was 2021 to be the year that I really focus on what I’m putting in my body and how it affects the skin on my face. It’s all about balance.
DO NOT PICK
One of my biggest problems is that I’m a picker. Any little spot, scar or imperfection and I’m straight at it with the tweezers. Not this year. This is the year that I leave my skin to fix itself. White head? Who cares. It’ll be gone in a day if I just leave it alone as opposed to picking at it for 4 hours and ending up with a huge red mark for 3 weeks straight.
Products
Let’s chat about products. Updating my skincare routine is one of my favourite things to do and a great way to keep a glowing complexion. Here are my current skincare saviours.
Clinique 72 hour cream – One of my favourite day time moisturisers. The 72 hour cream is so moisturising while being so lightweight. It’s the perfect moisturiser for under makeup for keeping your skin glowing while not being oily
Clinique hydra eye serum – The only eye cream I’ll allow near my eyes. I have such dry eyes but I can never use heavy eye creams because they leave me with huge puffy eyes in the morning. This serum is soooo hydrating while being so lightweight.
Estee Lauder Miracle Rescue – I’m really experimenting with my oils this year and a current favourite is the miracle rescue. As the name suggests, it’s a gorgeous oil at really hydrating and injecting that moisture without being oily or overbearing.
Clinique Take The Day Off Balm – Did someone say double cleanse? My favourite cleanser at removing ALL the stubborn makeup, ALL the dirt and ALL the grime.
Espa Balm – This year it’s all about the moisture. My current night cream of choice is the Espa balm – a gorgeously rich (and a little oily) moisturiser that helps to inject a serious amount of moisture while you sleep. Perfect for the winter months.
