I am having a bit of a love affair with dresses. I know- shock horror- Ellie is out of the mom jeans!! Floral dresses are such a massive trend this year (as with every year I know), but I really wanted to jump on the band wagon and style up from pretties myself. But if you know me, then you will know that I ain’t no heel girl. You would think that with my height I would be used to them but no- I am al about that comfort life. So when it comes to styling up a floral dress, I found it a bit tricky to work it into my wardrobe.
But I feel like I have cracked the floral dress code and found the perfect way to style it up in a more relaxed, casual way. The perfect PetiteElliee vibe.
The Dress
I am styling up this GORGEOUS ruffle dress that I was very kindly gifted from Trendeo. Its such a stunning dress (which is supposed to be more of a midi cut but it comes to the floor on my short arse). But actually I love how it looks. I think the chopped hem adds such a different vibes and makes the long line so much more relaxed! I find that it is sooo flattering on me and I actually feel so confident! Add on the very in ruffle sleeves and you’fe got yourself a winner! Shop the dress HERE
The Bag
You know I love my bags- and this statement bumble bee one is just TO DIE FOR. Again, it is from trendeo and you can shop it HERE. I just ADORE the statement bumble bee (and have been asked multiple times if it is a Dior bag, so I’ll take that). The green, red and black stripes make the bag so on trend and such a statement with any outfit!
The Shoes
So. You know I aint about heels. And something that I really worried about was how I was going to style the dress with a pair of shoes that feel more ‘me’. Et Voila! I found my babies. This pair of River Island espadrilles are just the perfect match with this dress! The white platform not only adds a bit of height to the outfit, but also adds such an alternative look. I just adore how these go with the dress and cannot wait to style it up more and more this spring!
