There’s no doubt about it, January is cold. Like, really cold. I’m leaving the house with thermals, gloves and scarfs and I’m still freezing my arse off. But one important thing for me as well as staying warm is still looking chic. There’s nothing worst than having to layer up and feeling like you’ve lost your personal style and you don’t feel cute, or chic or fashionable. So I’m here to help! Here’s my top tips on how to look chic while staying warm this January.
Layer underneath
One of my biggest tricks is to layer under my clothes. I’m talking thermals. Thermals, thermals thermals. Thermal tops, thermal leggings, thermal socks – they are essential because they add that extra layer of warmth without taking away from the outfit or away from your style.
Scarfs
Scarfs are such a huge trend this year and oversized, chunky scarfs are so in. Which is good for me because I rely on them so so much to stay warm. Here’s some of my favourite scarfs to shop right now.
Cute but cool coats are the key
The coat is the outer layer of the outfit and usually the first thing that people see when they see you and your outfit. So investing in cute coats that make you feel really pulled together, stylish and fashionable is so important. Here are some of my faves.
Beanies and Berets are your Besties
I dont know about you but I find when my head is warm, the rest of me is warm. So investing in hats is such a great way to ensure you stay nice and toasty while still looking cute. Beanies are more casual – great for weekend outfits with jeans. Berets are much smarter and are so great paired with workwear.
