After landing we were whisked to our hotel, the beautiful Savoy Palace in the heart of Funchal – a hotel that just took my breath away. From the amazing service to the flora and fauna surrounding the hotel, to the multitude of pools to choose from, it really was the epitome of luxury in the heart of Madeira. You know how much I adore my greenery and gardening and wow, was this hotel a garden lovers dream – the entire hotel was covered in the most beautiful smelling climbing flowers, botanical flowers and even their own kitchen garden. I lost count of the different varieties of blooms I could see and I can’t tell you how amazing the entire place smelt – every inch had a new sight, sound and smell to discover!
Not only did it have a variety of pools to choose from, it also had an amazing range of restaurants to eat at! From the Sky Bar up on the rooftop serving an amazing tasting menu, to the seafood restaurant down by the beach, to the al-a-cart, casual style restaurant to the poolside snack bar – you’ll never go hungry at the Savoy, that’s for sure.

You could easily spend your entire stay at the Savoy Palace, but of course there is so much of Madeira to explore. Being in the heart of Funchal, it really is the perfect location to explore what the beautiful island has to offer.
