A Tour Of My Living Room

If you’ve been following me for a little while, you’ll know about Coffee Table Gate. The dreaded coffee table accident where my boyfriend *ahem* BROKE IT by falling into it and promised to buy me a new one. Well, friend, that promise was made over 6 months ago and I can finally say that he has fulfilled his promise. A mere 6 months later.

But alas, the new coffee table is here and with that, lots of new furniture.

I’ve been feeling really uninspired with our home space recently and needed a big ol’ refresh. A lot of the furniture we had in the flat were cheap bits we bought in a scrounge to fill our first home a year ago. Many Ikea pieces that didn’t fit the space properly, didn’t fit well together and didn’t match. The TV unit we used to have was actually a coffee table – funny story is that we bought a big ol’ fancy TV but couldn’t afford a TV unit to fit it properly so just bought a cheapy little coffee table to do the trick.

Finally I can say that we have a real TV unit sitting underneath our TV and I couldn’t be happier with how it looks. One of my main criteria when looking for the new furniture was for it to look cohesive, for it to flow and come together in a harmonious, laid back, Californian style.

The TV unit we went for vibed really well with the rest of the flat and the white rattan matches so well with the other rattan unit I recently bought. I feel like they really tie the room together and make the flat look so much more cohesive.

The marble table is an absolute BEAUTY and I feel like finally completes the space. I was a little bit worries about going for another marble table after what happened to the last one but this number seems so much more sturdy. The wooden legs give it a great structure and means I don’t have to worry about a certain someone breaking it again.

I’m so, so unbelievably happy with how the living room turned out and how much more grown up and cohesive it makes the flat look. I’m so grateful to be able to thank Dunelm for gifting these pieces and letting me turn this room into something that brings me so much joy.
