Spring is springing and that means one thing – denim is back. Every year whenever the weather starts to warm up, our love for denim is reignited and each new season comes with a new style.
This spring there are 4 main denim trends that I am seeing and you guys are going to LOVE them. We’re going back to full nostalgia and y2k style is here with a vengeance. Style up the pieces with your favourite transitional knits for now and swap them up for shirts, racer vests and tees when the weather starts to warm up a bit.
The Maxi Denim
The first major denim trend this year that I have seen all over my instagram feed is the maxi denim skirt. They. Are. Everywhere.
This goes all the way back to how fashion can reflect the economy, society and what is going on in the world. I’ve spoken about this lots before but skirt left throughout centuries are directly related to times of struggle. When we are in prosperous times, lengths shorten – and when we’re in tough times, they lengthen. So I guess it really does make sense that we’re seeing a huge trend of maxi skirts.
But the denim maxi is such a cute look to style up this spring – paired with boots, trainers or ballet flats and you’ve got such an easy, pulled together look.
The Skinny Jeans
Oh yes, the skinnies are back!! I never thought I’d see the day but I’m actually super excited. I’ve seen two major ways of styling skinnies that I am loving – knee high boots for the winter and ballet flats for the spring. Light blue and white are especially on trend at the moment.
What do you think? Are you excited about the return of the skinny?
White Denim
My personal favourite – white denim is back. I find it so much fun to style up for spring and really do believe that it’s a timeless classic to invest into your wardrobe. I personally love a cropped style as it gives you a bit of elongation in your legs which is always a win if you’re a shortie like me.
White denim jeans, skirts and jackets are such a gorgeous, seasonal addition into your wardrobe.
Double Denim
Another huge trend this year is double denim. Pairing jackets with skirts or trousers – it’s such a great way to give yourself a super pulled together look while staying classic and easy.
